Admission to B.Arch.

For admission to B. Arch course, you should have passed:

  • PUC II/12th or equivalent examination with minimum of 50% in aggregate and having mathematics as one of the subjects of studies
OR

Three years of Diploma in any stream of engineering

AND
  • Should have qualified in/cleared the NATA examination

Yes, as per notification of Council of Architecture, candidates with Non-Science stream (Commerce & Arts) can seek admission to B.Arch course if they have graduated from the PUC-II/12th examination with mathematics as one of their main subjects and have passed the qualifying examination with minimum 50% and have qualified in NATA.

However, Non-Science students will be considered for admission during Academic Year 2017-18 only.

Candidates from outside Karnataka can apply for admission to B. Arch course through;
  • COMEDK: A single window merit based admission process conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering & Dental Colleges in Karnataka (COMEDK).
  • Management Quota: Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can seek admission through management quota by approaching the Hon. Secretary, Rashtreeya Shikshana Samithi Trust.

No, you don’t have to write the pre-engineering tests conducted by CET and COMEDK, these examinations are meant for candidates who aspire for engineering courses. For admission to the B. Arch course, you need to submit your PUC/12th and NATA score cards to KEA/COMEDK on or before notified date.

Yes, provided one of your parents is a domicile of Karnataka with mother tongue being Kannada, Tulu or Kodava and provided that you pass in Kannada Language Test conducted by KEA. Please refer information brochure published by KEA for more specific details.

Admission to M.Arch. (Urban Design)

For admission to M. Arch. (Urban Design) course you should:
  • Have B. Arch degree from a recognised university with minimum 50% marks.
  • Should have qualified PGCET conducted by KEA or have a valid GATE score
PGCET is Common Entrance Test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to postgraduate courses in Architecture and engineering in various professional colleges across Karnataka.
No, even for admission under management quota, you need to have either PGCET rank or valid GATE score.

No, only degree holders in architecture (B.Arch.) are eligible for admission to M.Arch course.
The M.Arch. course at RVCA is a fulltime programme.

RVCA Hostels

Yes, RVCA has well equipped hostel facilities for boys and girls.
Staying in hostel is optional, parents can make alternate arrangement for stay of their wards in the city/neighbourhood.

All rooms are designed for triple-sharing accommodation. Since accommodation is limited, rooms are allotted on first-come-first-serve basis.

Priority is given to students from out of station; local students may be considered only after meeting the requirements of students from out of station.

No, the mess at RVCA serves only vegetarian food.
Visiting doctor, ambulance, laundry, sports facilities, gymnasium, complimentary Wi-Fi, and ATM are available on campus.

All students are expected to return to their respective hostels latest by 8.30 pm.

For any such permission, a formal written request must be made in advance through the parents to the Chief Warden.

Transport Facility

RVCA can be conveniently reached using BMTC buses, Uber/Ola taxis and personal vehicles.
Students can opt for college transport facility by paying the prescribed fee.
RVCA buses operate on all working days except public holidays and vacations.
