Varna Sashidhar

B.Arch (VTU), Master in Landscape Architecture Degree(Graduate School of Design, Harvard University)

Varna is interested in the issues of sustainability in the urban landscape. She has worked on large-scale civic projects in urban environments that have included river corridors, park and open space systems. She interned with the renowned SriLankan architect Anjalendran C in Colombo and has worked with award winning design firms in the US such as WRT, MVVA Inc and EDSA.

Varna earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the R.V. College of Engineering Bengaluru (with distinction), and Master in Landscape Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. She has been a recipient of the JN Tata and Mahindra Scholarships for higher studies abroad. She has taught at the Career Discovery program at Harvard University. Varna Shashidhar is a visiting faculty at the BArch and MArch Program (Urban Design) at R.V. School of Architecture and practices landscape architecture with her firm Varna Shashidhar Landscape Architecture (VSLA) in Bengaluru, India. She contributes to design journals and newspapers in India.
