RVCA Consultancy Cell undertakes design, research and advocacy projects in both public and private sectors. The cell engages in urban development projects and aspires to create a platform for an alternate perception of architectural design, landscape, urban design and development, conservation and governance within Bengaluru Metropolitan area, India and beyond. The consultancy cell through its integrated approach relates architecture and urban design, addressing ecological, social and spatial dimensions.
This institutional consultancy cell is primarily supported by the RSS Trust - the management of RVCA and is co-ordinated by Prof. Prasanna Rao with a core team that includes Prof. Anitha Suseelan, Prof. Mahalakshmi K and Prof. Seema Maiya U. The team collaborates and scales up to include other experienced architects, urban designers and landscape architects as required for the projects. RVCA consultancy cell being unique and distinct in its expertise, has handled individual and collaborative projects of varying scales with governmental and non-governmental agencies. The RSS Trust has been the principal client for the consultancy cell and the total value of works completed so far amounts to Rs. 15 Crores.
RVCA Consultancy Cell is offering Urban Design Consultancy Services to BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) to rejuvenate several tanks in Bengaluru. Of the five projects awarded, two were initiated as pilot projects by the M Arch Urban Design Program students in Aug 2009- Jan 2010. The project value of works ongoing amounts to Rs. 2.9 Crores and is coordinated by Prof. Anitha Suseelan.

Inner Core Redevelopment Project
M Arch Urban Design Studio III has experimented with a public participation studio exercise, an alternative process to understand the inner city core dynamics, and proposed improvements in the KR Market precinct, Bengaluru in collaboration with FKCCI (Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in 2009.
